  And I wouldn't blame him one bit, there's no way he's paid enough to deal with this kind of interstellar horror.  Maybe if he gets that holiday bonus, but probably not. ;)

Thank you!  I tried to do my homework by scouring through a lot of historical photos until I found enough material to make it work.

Ah well I'm sure there will be further chances for you to paint them. I'll try to get some close-ups of them using their nippers for you if I can get close enough and if they do not retaliate when i try and photograph them...

I am poking my group to consider should we move from current 1920 game to 1890 game setting.. They are losing their toons soon anyhow so have to see how it turns out.

If you try it out, let me know how it goes, I got to view the manuscript when I was working on the cover and it looks like a lot of fun.

I just checked the Chaosium site, it is now available as a .pdf file, they're taking orders for the traditional book version and are shipping April 4th. [link]

really cool love-craftian atmosphere !! i like the design of the monster and the composition is very good too.i specially like the light reflection on the cobblestone- looks like a lot of work went in this.something is odd about the monsters hand or how he "holds" that lamp- but it doesn´t distract much from the overall impression.

Thanks! Yep, it did take a bit of organization with all those cobblestones. The Mi-Go is holding a brain canister, by the way... I'm not sure how they are to be held with the crab claws

Done quite a bit of victorian stuff lately. Nothing on dA, just in relation to work projects.
Over the years Ive probably owned most of the Call of Cthulhu game supplements and i cant believe ive only just recognised your style.

It would be interesting to see your take on a different subject matter, not that I haven't enjoyed what you have shared, mine you! :)

I've switched mediums a few times over the course of my time with Chaosium, so aside from the signature the style has evolved over the years.

well the Victorian stuff i mentioned were works projects, for casual games, some based on the Whitechapel murders, others not.
The stuff i tend towards in the artwork i do for my own pleasure is usually fantasy and horror.
done a fair bit in my time. been working professionally as an artist in one way or another for approx 20 yrs ;)

No idea as of yet, lol. But I would like to do something.. whether we could turn it into profit or not I have no idea.. may be it would definitely be a fun experiment.
But whatever we might end up doing it could be very cool I think.
If you have any ideas shoot them over to me via email purdyillustration@yahoo.co.uk and may be we could brainstorm together.

Thank you! "sinister" is probably the best way to describe the Gaslight era (Jack the Ripper, Jekyll & Hyde, etc), I am glad you used that term to describe it. :)

I agree. Outside of the Yithians and Deep-ones, I'd say these guys are my favourite of the Lovecraft monster. They also played a big part in one of the most popular rpgs I've ever ran.

That cane availed him no victory against it. Like usual, I wonder if he was all for the space-travel part of the offer but then changed his mind once he seen that...well...that his mind would be changed rather literally...

I learned in the games it was best to not attack- just run and try to observe as little as possible in hopes of keeping one's sanity intact.

I figure at this point a brain is already in the can and this mi-go is about to fly off to who knows where. The hapless victim probably tried to save his friend's brain... to no avail!

I think the ones that seem more intelligent- at least in a way we can understand intelligence, seem more of a threat. On the other hand, I see possible benevolence in them as long as you're not partial to your body.
